About the Role

The Automation department is a TMHA Head Office team dedicated to Sales, Implementation, and support of Toyota Automated Solutions. The purpose of this position is to deliver turn-key Automation Solutions which include automated vehicles, automated storage systems, materials handling, and software solutions.

In this role you will be tasked as part of a team to deliver compliant automation projects for customers. This will involve design, engineering, installation, commissioning, testing, handover, and support of the automated projects/solutions. You will work closely within the team to maintain service levels, performance, and profitability, whilst delivering the highest standards of customer care.

Reporting to the Product Manager – Automation, this role is based full-time in TMHA Head Office in Moorebank, NSW.  Travel will be required within the role to ensure the delivery of projects across the nation.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Technical liaison and support with the client and internal functional divisions such as Controls, Mechanical, and Software, ensuring that the automated solutions perform as per expectation.
  • Project Documentation including acceptance test plans and functional specifications.
  • Programming and execution of autonomous solutions using TMH control platforms as required.
  • Verification of autonomous solutions safety in compliance with relevant Australian Standards.
  • Integration of TMH automation solutions to customer and external systems.
  • End user documentation including operation and training manuals.
  • Operator training for various levels of users of the autonomous solution.
  • Adherence to, processes and procedures within the Automation Solutions Engineering Group.
  • Providing superior levels of design, engineering, and customer support during Sales and Project activities.
  • Proactively promoting group standards, innovation, improvements, risk identification and safety management.
  • Assist TMHA branches with implementation and support of the automated solutions.

Skills and Experience:

  • Preferred formal tertiary qualification in mechatronic engineering.
  • Sound automation experience in an industrial/warehousing/manufacturing field.
  • Previous experience with direct customer contact
  • Experience in trouble shooting and problem-solving complex systems.
  • Willingness and drive to learn combined with a strong will to win.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing.
  • Strong operations acumen.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities.
