About the Role

Determine, manage, monitor and be responsible, within company policy and TMHA’s business plan, for the efficient management of all aspects of the parts operations within the branch.  This includes growth of parts sales, parts interpretation, parts warehousing and logistics and management of parts systems and customer satisfaction.

Provide visible leadership and direction through policy and procedures, business plans and TMHA values in a manner that creates and reinforces a “One Company” focus within the branch.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all parts operations within the branch including systems, processes and activities meet the branch’s safety standards and as a minimum comply with all applicable laws, regulations and standards.
  • Ensure the branch has the correct stock mix and levels to allow internal stakeholders to maintain high levels of service.
  • Manage the clearance of aged stock to allow for faster moving lines.
  • Liaise with TMHA Head Office to ensure timely deliveries of part orders.
  • Monitor and analyse branch parts performance and operating standards. Analyse and provide action plans to facilitate the achievement of sales forecasts and targets.
  • Ensure that all spare parts systems and processes are communicated and understood by all branch stakeholders and be the specialist and leader for the branch. Be the key person for all spare parts enquiries and lead by example in relation to the systems and processes.
  • Identify, develop, and manage the implementation of systems and processes that support the management of the cost of inventory and consumables, warehousing, receiving and shipping, delivery of service and support to customers and quality control.
  • Develop, administer, communicate and adhere to TMHA’s parts policies, procedures and philosophies and ensure they are complied with within the branch.
  • Manage and monitor all aspects of the parts operations for the branch against established targets, identify gaps in performance and develop corrective strategies.
  • Conduct annual employee appraisals and arrange training programs where required.
  • Input ideas, implement activities and contribute to the decision making for the parts department within the branch.
  • Manage and monitor parts logistics and supply between internal and external customers.

Skills and Experience:

  • Certificate III in Automotive Sales specialising in Parts Interpretation (desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Front Line Management or Certificate III in Leadership Management (desirable)
  • Proven parts knowledge within the automotive or Material Handling Equipment industry.
  • Extensive experience with Parts Interpretation including using various catalogues.
  • Previous experience with Inventory control and warehouse/parts logistics
  • Extensive experience with complex ERP systems such as Infor M3.
  • Strong ability to communicate (written and oral) and negotiate with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Effective organisational and time management skills
